Hello Cloverdale Traditional Families,
Happy August! Welcome back, we hope you had a wonderful summer.
A few reminders for the first few days of school for new grade 1 to grade 5 students. (Kindergarten families, please follow the instructions you received in July).
September 3rd, 2019 students are in session from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Students should be in full uniform. Please bring a recess snack. We ask that you do not bring your school supplies on the first day. When the bell rings at 9:00 am, students will line up outside on the basketball court, behind the chair with their LAST YEAR’s division number on it. New students will line up at the chair that says NEW STUDENTS. Teachers will greet students outside and bring them inside. In the case of severe weather, we will follow the same process, but in the gym. At 11:30 a.m., students will be dismissed and parents can meet students on the basketball court. Parents of new students can meet their children at the classroom across from the office.
September 4th, 2019 is a full day of school. Please ensure that your child has a lunch and a pencil. Students do no need all of their school supplies until they are in their new classroom. Regular school hours of 8:44 a.m. – 2:52 p.m. resume. A reminder that we only have supervision for 15 minutes before and after the bell every day. Students must not be dropped off prior to 8:29 a.m. and cannot be picked up past 3:07 p.m.
We do not yet know what day we will move to our new classes. We will email parents the night before we move to let you know that we will be moving the next morning. Please diligently monitor your emails. The morning of the day that we move classes, a rolling bulletin board with new class lists will be posted on the basketball court. Support staff will be on hand to help students find the correct line for their new classes. Please send school supplies this day. If you ordered your school supplies through the PAC fundraiser they will be delivered directly to your child’s new classroom.
Parking will be at a premium. Please do not park in Thrifty Foods’ parking lot. There are only a few spots on Linwood. Please consider biking, or parking a few blocks away from the school and walking.
Students are expected to have their crested item at school at all times. Slightly used crested items will be on sale for $5 from the office during the first week of school. We do not have all styles and sizes. Cash only.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office at 250-382-7231. A reminder that if your child is away from school any day through the school year please call the safe arrival voicemail at 250-361-3706 or email email@example.com.
See you on September 3rd !
