SCHOOL UPDATES:
Principal’s Message
The sunshine has arrived! I hope everyone took time to relax and enjoy family during the spring break.
We are already moving quickly. As always, this third term brings with it many, many learning and extracurricular activities. This is historically a busy time for families, as community events and sporting undertakings begin. We truly appreciate the continued commitment of our Cloverdale learning community to maintain the important focus of school. Daily physical activity is emphasized at Cloverdale. Particularly at this time of year, please help your child be prepared for all types of weather by reminding them to dress in layers and have closed toe, flat shoes at school at all times for active and safe participation in the gym and outside. Your continued support is much appreciated.
Our school ‘Cheetah Chase’ took us through Quebec, finishing in Edmundston, N.B. for a total of 5,317 km. Well done Team Cheetah! Collectively we raised $2153.00!
Students and teachers are preparing for another very special event to take place in a few weeks. On Wednesday, April 23, we will be hosting Student Led Conferences. This is an important event and an opportunity for students to share the outstanding work they have been doing. This is a very special time, as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students with pride. Classroom teachers will be sending information specific to the timing and scheduling in each division. A reminder that there will be early dismissal on Wednesday, April 23. All students will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. Please ensure that you have made arrangements for your child to be picked up promptly.
As part of our required drill practices, we will be having a short lockdown practice on April 28.
Grade 5 Popcorn Sale Fundraiser
Over the next 4 Thursdays, our grade 5 students will be selling Kernels popcorn for recess snack to those who wish to purchase. The cost is $3.00 per bag and students can choose one of 3 flavors (butter/salt, white cheddar, and creamy caramel). No pre-ordering required. Students who wish to purchase will give their money to their classroom teacher the morning of the sale. All funds raised go towards the grade 5 legacy gift and year end field trip. Sales will happen April 10, April 17, April 24, and May 1.

1000 x 5
360,000 books cleaned and labelled, 120,000 gift bags with 3 books each. Thousands more young children now with home libraries. Thousands more young children in the early literacy club. Together we achieved this in 14 years.
Please continue to take your gently used books to the pink bin in the school’s office. Help change a child’s future.
