SCHOOL UPDATES:

Principal’s Message

It is hard to believe we are moving quickly toward February of 2026! Cloverdale is always a hub of activity and the month of February will be no exception. We have begun the Great Cheetah Chase. An annual event in which classes and the running club attempt to “run across Canada”. Students “collect kilometers” which are added to our map of Canada.

Pink Shirt Day is fast approaching, so kindness will be our focus for February.

In order to help keep everyone safe we would like to remind those that drive children to school that the staff area of the parking lot is not for pick up and drop off of children. We have a through lane next to the curb. No car should be left unattended in this area as we attempt to move cars through smoothly. The cones are placed to draw awareness to those places in the lot that should not have cars parked. Please help us keep everyone safe by following these guidelines.

Students continue to spend time outdoors daily, so weather appropriate clothing is imperative. If your child is a lover of the wet, a spare set of clothing left in their backpack might be appropriate.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Devices at School (Cell Phones and Smart Watches)

We have noticed an increase in students who have communication devices at school. We would like to ask that you have conversations with your child about appropriate use of these, as they have become increasing distracting to the classroom learning. We do not allow cell phones to be used during the school day and should spend the day in the students’ backpack. Many students have watches that have text ability, and we have asked students not to be using these during the school day, for anything other than checking time. If children need to connect with families during this time, the request should be made through an adult. Office will be notified so we can make the appropriate call home.

Fun Lunch Orders

Fun lunch orders for February to June are due today by 2:30 p.m. No late orders will be accepted.  This is the final block of dates for ordering this school year.  Thank you to everyone that has supposed our fundraising initiative through purchasing school fun lunch.  We appreciate your support.

School Chosen Non-Instructional Day

There will be no school for students on Monday (January 26) as our staff participates in professional development activities.  This is the 1 school chosen non-instructional day for the 2025-2026 school year,

Kindergarten Registration Week

January 26-30 is the time of year to register for Kindergarten!  If you have a child born in 2021 please remember to register for Kindergarten during this week.  If you have a child currently in Kindergarten through grade 4  and are returning to Cloverdale next year, there is no need to register, we automatically re-register you for the next school year.
