Principal’s Message
Welcome fall! We are still enjoying the wonderful weather, by heading outside every day. Children require appropriate dress for the weather, that is beginning to be a little cooler and more wet.
Students are progressing rapidly with all the learning this term. We are hosting conferences next week. Please remember to sign up for a conference time with your child’s teacher, to discover all that is happening for your student. This is a time for a short snapshot of your child’s progress and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the learning and explorations taking place in class.
Student safety is very important to us at Cloverdale and is a focus in all of our classrooms. Safe behaviors are being reviewed and students are involved in discussions about what safety looks like, sounds like and feels like here at Cloverdale School. Please take a moment to talk about safe behaviors with your child.
Thank you to everyone for calling or emailing the school if your child is going to be absent, and for getting your child to school on time in the morning. This is very important to start the day in a settled and calm way.
Kindness has been a key focus recently, as we discuss how we include all our classmates, are respectful and encouraging with each other. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Student Photo Retake Day
Wednesday, October 15 is student photo re-take day. If your child was absent on photo day or if you would like your child to have a photo retake, please sign up here for the link to add your name to the list for photo retakes. Deadline to sign up for re-takes in October 13.
Early Dismissal Reminder
On Tuesday, October 7 & Wednesday, October 8 we will be hosting our annual Fall Conferences. We will be having an early dismissal day on Tuesday, October 7 to accommodate the conferences. All students must be picked up by 11:50 a.m. on this day. If you have not yet booked your Fall Conference, there is still time. Please click here for the information and booking link.
Pumpkin Patch Festival
We’re excited to host our first-ever Pumpkin Patch Festival – a special fundraiser in support of classroom literacy! Thursday, October 16 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Come enjoy an afternoon of pumpkins, delicious food, festive fall activities, and community fun. Be sure to pre-order your pumpkins and hot dogs to guarantee yours!
Book Fair
Get ready to discover new books and support our school library! The Cloverdale Elementary Scholastic Book Fair will be open in the library on the following dates:
- Monday, October 6 | 2:40–3:30 PM (after school)
- Tuesday, October 7 | 12:00–5:45 PM (during Fall Conferences)
- Wednesday, October 8 | 2:45–4:45 PM (during Fall Conferences)
- Thursday, October 9 | At lunch
- Please note: The Book Fair will be closed on Friday, October 10.
Every purchase helps raise funds to grow and improve Cloverdale’s library collection—thank you for your support!
We accept cash, debit & credit cards, cheques (payable to the school) as payment methods at the Fair.

Books are part of October fun! Wee ones need your books. As you prepare for the end of the month celebrations with fun costumes and food, can you find a minutes to locate 3 gently used books for babies and toddlers and drop them off in the pink bin in the school office? These books will entertain and enrich wee ones long after the October fun has ended. 365,000 books in 15 years! Thank you.
