SCHOOL UPDATES:
Principal’s Message
November has brought shorter days, rain, wind and cooler temperatures. Students will continue enjoying outdoor recess and lunch time play opportunities. Please ensure that your child has a warm, waterproof jacket and boots. Spending more time indoors also raises concerns over the transmission of flu and colds. Frequent hand washing, and teaching of proper coughing and sneezing practices continue to be emphasized at Cloverdale. Thank you for your support by keeping your child home if they are sick where they can rest and recover most quickly. We also appreciate the phone calls and emails from parents informing us of their child’s absence. It’s not only an important part of student safety, it is also helpful to us in managing the spread of illness in the school.
The PAC Open Gym Night is this evening, Friday November 14th from 6:30-8PM! Everyone welcome – please wear clean, non-marking footwear. Parent/guardian supervision is required.
Board Game Night is coming up on Friday, December 5th from 6:00-7:30PM! The Board Game cafe will be in attendance with games for Cloverdale families to enjoy. Again – please wear clean, non-marking footwear. Parent/guardian supervision is required.
As the weather gets colder we are accepting donations of clean coats and jackets. Please bring them to the office or hang them directly on the clothing rack. If you need a coat or jacket, please help yourself from the rack. We all know how quickly children grow and this allows us to swap and exchange in the spirit of supporting one another during this time of growing inflation. We will be setting the rack up outside the main gym doors, and will have access for parents immediately before school in the morning.
Cloverdale continues to be an outstanding place for students to do their learning because of the many partnerships we enjoy. Parents, relatives, community members and groups support the great work being done at Cloverdale in so many ways. It is my privilege and pleasure to work with such an amazing community of people. Thank you!
