Principal’s Message
With only four weeks of school remaining, we have much to accomplish and much to celebrate.
We had a fabulous zone track meet this week, with several students heading off to the City Finals. Congratulations to all students for their outstanding commitment to training and thank you to all staff who are supporting this important opportunity for our students. Over these last weeks we have taken part in different transition activities: the grade 5 students had an opportunity to visit their middle school, and we have welcomed many of our new kindergarten students during an open house here at Cloverdale, just for them.
We are looking forward to our ‘park day’ on June 23.
We are also looking forward to ‘Wheelchair Sports Day’ on June 9. Thanks to our PAC for arranging and funding this program through PISE. Our students and staff look forward to it every year.
The Library Learning Commons is hosting the Greater Victoria Public Library on June 9, to do a presentation to all classes about their summer reading program. This free program is a fun way to encourage your child to continue to practice their reading skills over the summer break.
Thank you to the grade 5 students, who, this year, raised enough money to purchase a new sign board for the front of our school building. They have determined they would like to show school spirit by recreating the Cheetah logo. This legacy gift will be a permanent reminder of the grade five leaders of 2025.
As the year winds down, we appreciate your continued support in ensuring that your children attend school regularly, participate in home reading and come to school prepared for learning, special outings and presentations. Your effort to maintain good communication between home and school, and to support your child’s learning makes a huge difference to their success at school. It is a pleasure to work in such a supportive community. I am looking forward to a very busy, exciting and productive month ahead
Family Photo Night Fundraiser Follow Up
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Family Photo Night Fundraiser a few weeks ago. We raised $930 that will be spent on Science materials for the whole school.
If you have not yet gone online and viewed your gallery to order your free 8 x 10 print, please do so before June 9. An email was sent to you with instruction. Please reach out to the school office if you have not received the information by email.
Parent Appreciation – June 3
Parent Appreciation takes place on Tuesday, June 3rd. Parents, please join us from 8:15 a.m. – 8:40 a.m. for coffee or tea out at the front of the school as we say “thank you” for all the ways you support your children and our school throughout the year. In addition, make sure to take a walk around the outside of the school and look at the window displays that have been created in your honor. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!
