SCHOOL UPDATES:

Principal’s Message

The countdown is on! As we near the end, staff and students are working hard to finish the school year with effort and engagement. We are looking forward to our all-school Park Day at Rutledge Park on June 23th. Please remember to wear appropriate shoes for the walk, clothing, hats and sunscreen. Park Day will be followed by “fun day” which will be held in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 26th, at which time students will have the opportunity to participate in a number of games and activities. Thank you to PAC who will provide treats for the afternoon event. This year PAC has also supported us with the recent Wheelchair Sports event presented by PISE. We appreciate these things for all our children, thank you.

PAC will be hosting a year-end picnic on June 20 from 5-7. There will be a raffle, cake walk, face painting, and bouncy castle. Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase (cash preferred, card available). Feel free to bring your own your own food. The PAC is still looking for volunteers. Please see their website or Facebook page for details or with questions.

As the year winds down, your continued support in ensuring that your children attend school regularly, participate in home reading and come to school prepared for learning, special outings and presentations is greatly appreciated.  Your efforts to maintain good communication between home and school, and to support your child’s learning in every way possible, make a huge difference to their success at school.

Class Photos

You should have received a complementary class photo from Mountain West.  All photos were distributed by teachers to their classes in the past week.  If you wish to order more copies of the class photo, you can do so by accessing the gallery here.  Use the webcode you were issued for your individual student photos in the fall, or follow this link, enter the required information, and your code will be issued to you within 1 business day.  For assistance or for more information please contact Mountain West directly at 1-866-644-4494 or by email.

Greater Victoria Public Library Visit

Earlier this week we were fortunate to have volunteers from the Greater Victoria Public Library.  They were here sharing information about their annual summer reading program.  For more info, see the link to their website here.  You can also view a video about the program here.
