SCHOOL UPDATES:

Principal’s Message

Kindness month has begun. Cloverdale School is a great place to be, with all of us working toward the goal of mindful caring. It is great to see so many children continuing to show kindness towards others, by using kind words, using a kind voice, being patient and generally treating others with respect. We will celebrate pink shirt day on February 25. We are looking forward to seeing all variety of pink shirts. This day is a celebration of diversity, anti-bullying, kindness and inclusion.
We would like to remind everyone that being at school on time and ready to start the day, makes for a smooth transition for all children. It helps them to feel part of the caring community that is their classroom, while helping to instill respect for the time and care taken by others. Encouraging students to stay until the day is complete (right until the bell) is another way for students to be part of their social community, by helping with classroom tidy, completing small tasks of helpfulness, and generally being able to participate in full closure for the school day.
Cheetah Chase is well underway, with students having run and amazing 877 kms so far. This takes us across British Columbia and into Alberta!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Card Project fundraiser! We were able to raise over $1000 for the school through this event – we are grateful to all of the teachers and staff for their work in this event. PACs next Open Gym Night is on Friday, February 20th from 6:30-8PM. All Cloverdale families are welcome to this free event! Please be sure to wear non-marking footwear, and ensure your children stay in the designated (gym) area.
We would like to say thank you to Cloverdale Thrifty Foods, for their kind donation of bottled water for our emergency kiosk. As we replace outdated supplies for our students in the event of an emergency, this donation helps us to make sure everyone will have what they need.

Student Learning Survey 2025-2026

information from parents/guardians/caregivers, teachers, and students on topics related to school environment, safety, and achievement. The information is used for planning in individual schools and provides a district and provincial perspective.

Early in 2026 the Student Learning Survey will be administered to students in grades 4, their parents/guardians/caregivers, and all school staff. We encourage parents/guardians/caregivers to participate in this survey, as the results are important in identifying and celebrating current strengths, as well as determining where the school needs to focus improvement. The surveys contain standard questions for the Province – in addition, questions from the school and/or district that focus on local conditions or issues may be included.

The survey can be completed electronically and can be accessed on the Internet at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/k-12/support/student-learning-survey. Any computer or mobile device with an Internet connection can be used, and access to the e-survey is simple and secure. The survey can be accessed through the link and by clicking on Take the Survey. On the login page, click on the Parents icon, and then select the school district and school name where your child attends school. Provincial, District and School Reports for previous years can be viewed at the same site under the Results section.

The e-survey site will be open until May 1, 2026.

If you have any questions, please contact the school at 250-382-7231.
