SCHOOL UPDATES:

Principal’s Message

Sun, wonderful sun! We are enjoying it here at Cloverdale. Hats and sunscreen may become the norm moving forward, although we know how changeable Victoria weather can be. For now, outside time with shorts and t-shirts is being enjoyed by students. Please ensure that your child has the appropriate footwear to play safely on our playground, fields and courts during these times. ‘Flip flops’ and/or bare feet are very hazardous on the school fields and blacktop.

Teachers are looking forward to time with families at conferences next week.

We have a lockdown drill planned for April 27 with Saanich Police in attendance. Teachers spend time discussing and preparing students for this in an age appropriate manner.

Stay safe, and be well.

Early Dismissal Reminder

A reminder that all students will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22 for Spring Conferences.  Please ensure you have made arrangements to pick up your child(ren) promptly at 11:50 a.m. on this day.  As usual, we will provide supervision on the school grounds for 15 minutes after the bell only (until 12:05 p.m.).  Please note that early dismissal is for April 22 only.

All classroom teachers have communicated their classroom conference plans to parents already .  If you are unsure as to what your child(ren)’s teacher has planned please contact the teacher directly or call the school office at 250-382-7231.

Family Photo Night Fundraiser

It’s back!  The ever popular Family Photo Night fundraiser is being held Tuesday, May 5th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:20 p.m.  Spots are every 10 minutes.  Each sitting fee of $30 goes right back to the school and every family that participates gets a free 8 x 10 print of the photo of their choice. Spots are filling up fast.  Book now to avoid missing out.  All bookings are done online by clicking the link here.

Yearbook Order Forms

Yearbook order forms will come home today!  This is your only chance to order yearbooks.  There will not be another opportunity and we do not order extra, only the exact amount ordered and paid for by parents before the deadline.  Don’t miss out!  Yearbooks are $25 and orders are due back no later than end of day on May 1.

Grade 5 Popcorn Sales

Thank you to those who supported our first 2 weeks of the grade 5 popcorn fundraiser.  We will continue to sell bags of popcorn for $3 for the next 2 Thursday,  No pre-ordering required.  Bring your $3 on Thursday April 23 and Thursday April 30 to purchase a bag of popcorn.
