SCHOOL UPDATES:

Principal’s Message

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and warm weather we have been having. We are off to a great start in our final learning term here at Cloverdale. Staff and students hit the ground running with activities, classroom situations and outdoor experiences that enhance learning and engage everyone. Our grade five leaders are doing a super job with daily announcements, kindergarten helping, lunch monitoring, assembly MC, and many other wonderful leadership activities. You should be hearing from your classroom teacher about this term’s informal student reporting, which will take the form of a student-led conferencing, so students can ‘show what they know’. Teachers have been creative and are hopeful that what they have planned for you and your student will be informative. Thank you for your continued support of your child at school. We work hard to ensure that Cloverdale is a safe and nurturing place for us all.  Every day at Cloverdale we focus on kind and friendly behaviours, providing all students the opportunity to fix any mistakes and for everyone to demonstrate learning from each mistake. Thank you for all you do to reinforce these beliefs. It is definitely a pleasure to work with such a supportive community.

As we begin the process of planning for the 2025-2026 school year, it is important that families let the office know if students will not be returning.

Mini rugby has begun for students in grades 4 and 5 and track has begun for grades 3,4, and 5.

Please be reminded that our after-school supervision ends at 2:50 p.m. daily.  Parent support and cooperation with prompt pick up at the end of the day is necessary to accommodate staff attendance at off-site meetings and other obligations. Your child’s safety and well-being continue to be our priority.

Enjoy a restful long weekend!

Early Dismissal Reminder

On Wednesday, April 23 we are having our annual Student Led Conferences.  All students will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. on this day.  Please ensure you have made arrangements for a prompt pick up.  There is no supervision for students for the afternoon.

If you have not yet heard from your child’s teacher as to the style and timing of their Student Led Conferences please reach out to confirm with them directly.

Grade 5 Popcorn Sale Fundraiser

Over the next 2 Thursdays, our grade 5 students will be selling Kernels popcorn for recess snack to those who wish to purchase.  The cost is $3.00 per bag and students can choose one of 3 flavors (butter/salt, white cheddar, and creamy caramel).  No pre-ordering required.  Students who wish to purchase will give their money to their classroom teacher the morning of the sale.  All funds raised go towards the grade 5 legacy gift and year end field trip.  Sales will happen April 24, and May 1.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is overflowing!  If you think your child may have an item that is in the lost and found, please check downstairs near the gym.  All lost and found items are currently on display.  Any items not claimed by Friday, April 25 will be boxed up and donated.

Yearbook Orders

Yearbook order forms were sent home Thursday, April 17.  If you wish to purchase a yearbook for your child for the current school year, please fill out the form and return it with payment to your child’s teacher or the school office.  Orders are due by Monday, May 5.  No late orders will be accepted.  This is your only chance to order as we only order enough books for what is pre-ordered.
