National Indigenous Peoples Day at Cloverdale

On Wednesday June 17, we had a wonderful gathering on our nature playground to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day (we know we were a few days early!). We drummed, we learned and we stood together as a community. The biggest thank you to Amanda Delorme and her family for making fry bread for our entire school, to Ms. Bender for supplying homemade jam to enjoy with it, to Mr. Gordy Bear for joining us to lead our drum circle and for Carly Bird, our amazing Indigenous Student Advocate for making time for us in her busy schedule . We sang the Celebration Song, which was gifted to our school district by Bradley Dick while the sun shone down on us. It was a wonderful celebration.  Hych’ka
