SCHOOL UPDATES:
Principal’s Message
Our final learning term here at Cloverdale well under way. Staff and students hit the ground running with activities, classroom situations and outdoor experiences that enhance learning and engage everyone. The fabulous Mrs. Whyte has helped our grade five strings group to perform in the Strings Festival, partnering with the Quadra School group. Our students and staff participated in a wonderfully executed lockdown drill this week. Our police liaison officer, Constable Clay was in attendance with a few colleagues and was impressed at how well we did! Thank you for your continued support of your child at school. The mini rugby jamboree will be held next week for those who have been practicing hard. Track practices have started for the 100 metre, 800 metre and relay races. If your child is participating in track please ensure that they come with appropriate footwear for running. The Zone meet will be held on May 26th, 9:45-1:30 at the UVic track. We will be looking for parent volunteers to help with the many jobs required to run an efficient meet. Please let us know if this is something you would be willing to help with. Thank you to our PAC for supporting our floor curling equipment rental again this year. This has become a yearly event that all our staff and students really enjoy and look forward to!
Yearbook Orders
All Yearbook orders are due back today (May 1) by 3:00 p.m. to the school office. If you wish to order a yearbook, this is the final call. No extras are ordered. Yearbooks are $25.00 and will go home at the end of June.
Class Photos
Tuesday, May 5 is class photo day. Photos will be sent to the school in the following weeks for distribution to classes. Every student will receive 1 photo. There is no ordering or charge for this. We are not able to provide more than 1 photo per student. We have a very tight schedule for our photos to ensure that all classes are photographed within the timeframe the photographers are on site. We cannot accommodate late student arrivals or early dismissals. Classes will only be photographed once, during their allotted time. We are not able to provide specific times for each class photo. Photos will begin at 8:45 a.m. and should be finished just after lunch time.
