SCHOOL UPDATES:

Principal’s Message

It is hard to believe term one is coming to a close. Cloverdale School has remained focused on the student learning it is known for. It has continued to be a place of community belonging, safe exploration, exceptional growth and personal goal setting. I am proud to call myself a member of this fabulous school community. As we move into winter break and all the things the approach of this time of school year brings, it is more important than ever to maintain healthy schedules. With the excitement created, it can be difficult to stay on routine. We know how much this routine can impact the daily learning ability of young students. We would like to request that families please bring students by bell time in the morning and pick up at bell time in the afternoon. Coming in late and picking up early disrupts the routine and learning in classrooms, and can be unsettling for the student who is coming late or leaving early.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Winter Concert, Dec. 17th and 18th. So much work and time have been spent practicing and creating beautiful decorations. This promises to be a very special event for all!

One more reminder that the Learning Updates (report cards) that you will be able to access on Parent Connect, December 12 at 3:30 p.m. As has been the practice since last year, there will be no paper copy sent home. Please remember these are a snapshot of your child’s progress at a very specific point in time, and please use the report to have a conversation with your child about their progress thus far and the goals they can set for next term.

We are all very much looking forward to Winter Break! Our staff here wish you all a very safe, relaxing and fun holiday with your families!

Winter Concert

A reminder that our winter concert is next week!  Please ensure your child comes to school with their costume pieces for dress rehearsal on Tuesday, December 16, and for afternoon concert on Wednesday, December 17.  All tickets have now been issued and both shows are sold out.  We have no remaining tickets for either performance.  All people attending the concerts must have a ticket.  This includes small children that will sit on your lap and babies.  If you arrive without a ticket you will not be permitted to enter the gym.

Learning Updates & Parent Connect

Today at 3:30 p.m., our Term 1 Learning Updates (formerly referred to as Report Cards) will be released on Parent Connect.  Paper copies of learning updates are not sent home with each student.  To access your student’s learning update, please make sure you can access your Parent Connect account.  Information on how to sign up for Parent Connect, and the link to access the system, can be found on the school district website here.
